Yahoo! Classifieds is a classified advertising service. You don't need to be a registered Yahoo! user, nor do you need to be logged in to use Yahoo! Classifieds. However, there are some features that are only accessible if you're registered and logged in.
Information Collection and Use Practices
- If you would like to place an ad on Yahoo! Classifieds, some of your personal contact information is shown with your ad, including your name, address, email address, telephone number, and any other information that you specify.
- There will be a link from your ad that users can click on in order to email you if they are interested in your ad.
- Prior to the expiration of a listing, Yahoo! will email a reminder to the seller that the listing must be updated, renewed, or deleted.
- If you click on the "Reply to this ad" link within the ad this will bring up a page that asks for your email address. An email will be sent from you to the user who placed the ad. Yahoo! does not use this information for any marketing purposes.
- When you use the "Email to a Friend" link, Yahoo! will prefill a form with the email address we have for you in our records. You enter the email address for the person you want to receive the notice. Yahoo! will use that email to transmit your message and not for any marketing purposes.
- If you "clip" an ad, that ad will be stored on your behalf for future access.
- To sign up for Yahoo! Classifieds Express, we ask for your name, company, phone number, fax number and email address. We use this information to contact you regarding your listings, send you our newsletter, and for other administrative purposes.
- When you provide Yahoo! with a testimonial about your Yahoo! Classifieds experience, we ask for your name, email address, phone number (optional), and feedback regarding your experience. We may use this information to contact you regarding your testimonial. If you indicate that we may quote you, your name and experience may be shared with others or posted publicly to our site and you may be contact about your experience.
- Yahoo! also offers a feedback form that allows you to send us comments and suggestions regarding Yahoo! Classifieds. This form asks for your name and email address, but only your email address is required. Your email address may be used to contact you regarding the feedback that you have provided to us, but will not be used for any marketing purposes.
Information Sharing and Disclosure Practices
- By using Yahoo! Classifieds and its various features, you may make some of your personal information public or you may choose to share some of your personal information with others.
- If you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
Practices Regarding Your Ability to Update or Delete Information
- You can edit or delete any current ads you have placed by clicking on the "My Ads" link from any Yahoo! Classifieds page.
- You can delete any clipped ads you have stored at any time.
